(might update later with emojis- we'll see)
steale a meme from
and tagged me, so... here we are (I should be sleeping- two hours ago (what am I doing with my life?))
★BASIC DETAILS AND OUTWARD APPEARANCE ★
1. Name:
Makaia
2. Nickname(s)?:
A friend from work came up with Mini Sass one day (hasn't stuck). So, not really.
3. Gender and pronouns?:
Ugh. This mess. Um. Gender-nonconforming female (I guess). She/her/hers.
5. When is your birthday?:
27 October.
6. Nationality:
U.S. of A.
7. Race:
White...? My closest ancestors not born on the North American continent were from England, Swedin and Germany.
8. Have any special features?:
Some scars and moles. And my upper right lateral incisor is a peg tooth.
9. How tall are you?:
5'5"
10. Body type?
Underweight, but otherwise fit. Not really curvy or anything (I don't know).
11. Do you have any moles / freckles?:
See 8.
12. Do you have any significant scars, birth marks or other marks on your body?:
A scar on my left eyebrow that used to be more prominent. A still-noticeable scar on my (permanently fucked up) left knee.
13. Do you wear glasses?:
No.
14. If not, do you wear contact lenses?:
No.
15. Have any facial hair?:
No.
16. If not, would you like to have facial hair?:
Not really my thing (which is funny- none of the characters in my ongoing projects have facial hair, so as far as that goes... not really
my thing).
17. Do you regularly shave your legs or arms?:
No. It doesn't really bother me. The social pressure bothers me a lot (working on getting over that). I wear long sleeves and jeans a lot though- the only people who see me more unclothed than that would know me well enough that I wouldn't be/feel judged.
18. Are your ears pierced and how old were you when you got them pierced?:
Yes. I can't remember how old I was. Maybe 12?
19. Do you have any other piercings / body modifications?:
No.
20. Do you have any tattoos? If so, how many and what are they?:
No. It's something I have/do consider, but I seem to have a problem with the idea of... permanently altering my body like that.
21. Is your hair currently its natural color? Or is it dyed?:
Natural.
22. What color is your hair right now?
Dark brown. Not sure exactly how dark since it's buzzed.
23. Is your general outward expression masculine or feminine, or is it more androgynous? What do strangers most often recognize you as?:
People usually address me as female (I've only been misgendered twice). I think I present... androgynous leaning feminine, since I wear clothes that are tailored for a female figure, but that tend to be influenced by more masculine design trends.
24. Skin tone:
I live in a basement and only come out at night. You figure it out.
25. Do you wear make up?:
Makeup is on the list of things along with chapstick, lotion, and hand sanitizer of infernal inventions I refuse to mess with.
I do actually want to get the barest minimum of makeup though, for special occaisions. I see it more as... a costume accessory. So, depending on where I was going, it might make sense to have some makeup on to complete the 'costume'.
★ RELATIONSHIPS, FRIENDS, FAMILY AND LIVING ★
26. Do you prefer to have many friends or hold close just a few good friends?:
I think I have a (surprisingly, to me) affectionate streak in me. I feel like it's almost a sort of physical, exhaustable commodity. And so, I prefer to have a small, tight-knit circle, so I can give more of myself. I also like the people I care about to really know me, which means being vulnerable. I don't think I'd be able to stand having the sort of relationship(s) I want with a lot of people. Right now my circle (my
people) number eight (plus three people who are in a grey area between that circle and
every one else).
27. Do you have a best friend? What's their name? (List as few or as many as you'd like):
28. How / where did you meet your best friend(s) and for how long have you been friends?:
Uh. Ninth grade. So... 5-6 years?
29. Do you still live with your parents?:
Nope. I'm on my own.
30. Are your parents still married?:
No. My mum's twice divorced now.
31. Were you raised by your biological parents or were you adopted?:
Mostly raised by my mom and step-father. I saw my biological father more when I was younger, but began breaking off contact when I was about 16.
32. Do you get along with your parents?:
I don't see/speak to my dad or step-dad anymore (hasn't stopped them trying to get in contact). My relationship with my mom is... not as good as it could be, but definitely not bad. I think I have some trust issues, and some trouble with how she expresses/has expressed her love for me. I think things are better since we don't live together.... But then, we talk less now, so it's difficult to really say.
33. How about with the rest of your extended family?:
My sister is like a best friend to me. She's also been very supportive and almost mentor-like (especially over the last 6 months). My relationship with my brother is much more distant. He and I haven't always got along well (mood problems being a common thing in my family didn't help much), but things have got better as we've grown older. Aside from that, I'm relatively close to my maternal grandmother, and even though I do see many relatives from that side of the family, I'm not particularly close to any of them.
34. Do you have any pets? If so, how many?:
My family has a cat, but they took him with them when they moved. I'm actually currently looking for a cat to adopt.
35. Do you prefer to have cats, dogs or both (or neither)?:
I'm much more of a cat person. I find dogs a little... overwhelming. They can make me a little anxious sometimes (I've got better about it thanks to
's dogs). Definitely prefer cats though.
36. Are there any animals you don't have but would like to have someday?:
Not really. I've thought that it might be nice to have a horse someday, if circumstances allow (I really love percherons). I guess I really like animals more from a hypothetical/artistic perspective.
37. Do you have any siblings?:
Yes.
38. If so, how many?:
Two- my sister and brother.
39. Are you an only child, the youngest, oldest or the middle child?:
I'm the eldest. My sister is a year and a half younger than I am, and my brother is seven years younger than me.
40. If you have a sibling / siblings, do you get along with them? What's your relationship with them like?:
We all get along. My sister and I get along best I think. We're closer in age, and spent most of our time growing up with just each other for company, so we had to be friends as well as siblings. It was different with our brother, so the relationship's not as close. Definitly got better as we've all got older though.
41. Are you in a relationship?:
I'm currently 21 years single.
42. What's your romantic / sexual orientation?:
Why couldn't I be asked this question
before it got complicated to answer?
If I were to use labels (that don't include the word '
complicated'), I would say... demiromantic (grey?) asexual. Which is to say, I went 20 years without being interested in having a relationship with anyone (even sort of apathetic towards friendships, honestly), never met anyone I was interested in or attracted to. Never had feelings for anyone that were more than friendly or familial. And then someone came along and knocked me on my ass (metaphorically speaking). And now things are complicated.
43. Are you monogamous or polyamorous?:
I have a whole thing with loyalty in general, so... definitely monogamous (speaking romantically/sexually).
★ SOME MORE PERSONAL STUFF ★
56. Do you have a collection of anything? Or would you like to collect something in the future?:
I collect antique books. No particular sort, just whatever happens to catch my eye. Common themes include medicine/toxicology/science, religion (I own 2 antique bibles), and poetry. I've also officially begun a rosary collection (also vintage/antique). And I sort of collect and dry roses (I really need to add to that one since I actually have space to keep them around now)....
57. Do you have a job?:
Yes.
58. If so, where do you work or are you self-employed?:
I'm on the night crew at my local grocery store- technically it's Kroger, but they don't operate it under that name.
59. Last person you called:
My sister. It was unintentional (I fucked up the headphone jack on my phone and now the thing has a mind of its own).
60. Do use alcohol?:
I wouldn't say I 'use' it. I have (less than half of) a bottle of whisky in a drawer of my desk that's supposed to be for very special occaisions (like when I have a friend over, or the time my car broke- for the second time in a month). Which is to say, I like it very much, so I try to stay away from it (seems to be a common pattern of behaviour for me at present).
61. Do you use tobacco?:
No.
62. Do you use any other (currently) illegal substance(s)?:
No.
63. What's your favorite food and drink?:
Coffee is a food, right?
64. What type of clothing do you wear most often (Tshirts, hoodies / sweatshirts, etc.)?:
Henleys (and variations thereof), and high-waisted black skinny jeans. With fingerless gloves.
65. What color is your underwear?
A very desaturated blue.
66. What's your favorite type of kind of pants to wear (shorts, sweatpants, joggers, skinny jeans and so on)?:
Uh. Jeans. My favourite pair of pants that I
own though are probably my high-waisted, wide-legged slacks.
67. Favorite television and / or Netflix shows?:
Game of Thrones, Supernatural, and Preacher.
68. Do you play video games? What are some of your favorites?:
No. I've played some Call of Duty with my brother, and watched my sister play some of the Assassin's Creed games. There's a video game called Limbo that I heard about that I would actually be interested in checking out though.
69. Do you prefer to play games on consoles or PC?:
N/A
70. Favorite movie genre(s)?:
All of them?
71. Have any favorite movies to watch?:
3:10 to Yuma; the first three Pirates of the Caribbean movies; Spirited Away; Hellboy I and II; Pan's Labyrinth; the Devil's Backbone- you know what? Anything by Guillermo Del Toro. And also Baz Luhrman.
72. What kind of deodorant / perfume / cologne do you wear?:
A spritzer-bottle one that claims to smell like green tea and chamomile (I think it's lying, but it smells okay, so....)
73. Favorite soda(s):
Uh, well, Coke goes good with whisky, but I've also (re?) discovered the underappreciated joy that is 7-Up.
74. Do you eat sweets? What's your favorite candy?:
I have one hell of a sweet tooth (a friend from work observed that 90% of what I eat is chocolate-based and he is... not wrong). Exactly what I go for depends on the day and my mood.
75. Ever done anything illegal?:
Well...
reminded me about that time we tresspassed in a cemetery after hours. And then I also have a couple speeding tickets (do those even count?)
★ PERSONAL BELIEFS, CONTROVERSIES AND OTHER VIEWS ★
76. Religious / spiritual beliefs?:
I'm an atheist (I am not convinced of the existence of any deity/deities).
77. Do you attend any sort of religious services regularly (like church)?:
No. I've always attended church with my grandparents in the summer. If I do visit them again, I might try to bow out (it stopped being something I was entirely comfortable with after I realised how different my views were from... those of everyone else in the place).
78. Do you believe in a higher power (god / gods, spiritual beings, some sort of creator)?:
No.
79. How about evil? Do you believe in demons, the devil or other inherently malicious beings?
No. I think people like to invent evil as a way of simplifying things- making life more palateable.
80. Angels and demons?
No.
81. Ghosts and / or other crypids?
No. I do use the term 'ghost(s)' though to describe psychological phenomena I experience(d) (olfactory hallucinations, and in the past, hypnopompic hallucinations, and auditory/visual disturbances). And also this person in my life who seems to sort of... comes and go without me really realising, who is
really good at catching me off guard/startling me. 'Ghost' seems like an appropriate comparison.
82. How about aliens?
Sort of? Alien life- yes. Complex, space-faring alien life? Not so much. Alien life that's made it to earth (the grey, Area-51 type)? No.
83. Pro-life or pro-choice?:
I'm pro-choice. I don't believe in saddling only person with the consequences of an act that two people were involved in, and I also value very much a person's right to bodily autonomy. Aside from that: we respect the wishes the dead have for the treatment of their bodies. How could you deny that right to a still-living person?
84. What country do you live in and what is your political stance?:
I live in the United States. I'm radically left-wing (and yet, nowhere near as radically left-wing as I could be). I'm also still figuring out the particulars of my position.
85. Do you believe in witches, witchcraft and / or magic?:
No.
86. Do you believe in equal rights among all people of all shapes, sizes, color, gender, sexuality and beliefs?:
Yes.
87. Do you believe that keeping wild animals in zoos, aquariums or as pets is right or wrong?:
I don't think I know enough on the subject to have a properly informed opinion.
88. Thoughts on the death penalty?:
I'm ambivalent.
89. Thoughts on Donald Trump?:
Don't get me started.
90. Should marijuana be legalized for medical and / or recreational use?:
Yes. It should also be much more extensively researched.
91. What are your views on humans creating organic, artificial life?
Like all technology, if it's achievable, it has the potential to go right, or horribly wrong. Also, it's 3 in the morning for me right now, so that's all you're getting for an answer.
92. What about immortality? What are your views on humans searching for the key to eternal life?:
I think immortality is overrated. I think looking for it (and, god-forbid, finding it) in the world, with the world being the way it is now, wouldn't go over well. Time would become a commodity (like everything else).
93. Thoughts on overpopulation, what do you think we should do?:
I agree with
- education is a good start.
94. Thoughts on the Flat Earth theory:
95. Thoughts on birth-control:
A lot of thoughts basically summed up as: It's a good thing.
96. Is global warming a myth?:
No.
97. Are your beliefs more liberal or conservative?:
I don't really use the terms 'liberal' and 'conservative' anymore (since I guess they tend to have different meanings depending on where you are in the world, especially in America). I use left/right wing. I'm more left-wing.
98. Do you believe in Santa Claus and other holiday-related beings?:
No.
99. Thoughts on pit bulls. Do you think they're too dangerous to be kept as pets and should be banned?
I believe that every creature's nature is a mix of nature and nurture. I agree with
- keeping pit bulls out of the hands of people who would use and abuse them would definitely help things.
100. Are you vegetarian or vegan?
No- neither.

Sand-coloured. Nothing on them yet. Planning on changing that eventually.

127. Does your bedroom door have a lock on it?
Yes.
128. Can you drive? Do you have your learners permit or license?:
I can drive. I have a proper license now too, since I turned 21 last fall.

Tile.
131. What's your favorite book?:
